Difference in Chat templates
It seems like the chat templete embedded in the GGUF files are not the 1:1 conversion of the ones provided by the model card chat template.

When you say "model card chat template", are you referring to what I rendered, what huggingface renders, or what deepseek shows?
My card lists whatever compiling the chat template itself would render
@a-word-in-a-corner What you pasted doesn't even look like a proper chat template, more like an Ollama internal representation. If you go to the model card, there's a button on the right to display the chat template. You can put that in any online Jinja parser, enter a sample chat JSON representation and see for yourself how the result looks like.
That is indeed what Ollama uses.

was correct about ollama. I've even converted the original jinja template on from the model card to one that can be consumed by ollama. But there a lot of assumptions and restriction on how ollama parses the template the prevents one from fully converting the original template. For example see:
