Organization Card

Swecha was founded in 2005 as an organization to support the Swecha project, now pioneering AI innovations for empowering the Global South with a vibrant community of users, students, academicians, researchers, and software professionals/developers determined to provide quality software built on the guidelines of free software development model. Swecha is part of the Free Software Movement of India.

Together with IIIT Hyderabad, as a joint initiative, Swecha established VISWAM AI (Venture for Innovation and Social Wellbeing through AI for the Marginalised) -The Center of Excellence on AI for Global South.
